Arsenal owner wants Thierry Henry to replace Wenger

Arsene Wenger's time at Arsenal is looking increasingly up with every passing game.

The Gunner's hierarchy need a man to replace the Frenchman if he eventually decides to leave when his contract expires in the summer.

That could could be club legend Thierry Henry who is the preferred choice of Josh Kroenke – the son and heir to Gunners owner Stan.

Arsenal non-executive director Josh, 36, has seen his influence since being involved in the club from 2013 increased and is known to be a big fan of the legendary striker, as is his father.

The 39-year-old Henry has been working as an assistant to Belgium national team manager Roberto Martinez – but has made it clear his dream role is to manage Arsenal one day.

Henry has worked under managers such as Wenger and Pep Guardiola and is keen to take up a pitch side role.

Josh Kroenke believes Henry can take Arsenal to the top of the managerial game having worked with the likes of Arsene Wenger and Pep Guardiola.

Kroenke Jr will offer Henry the role of Arsenal manager if Wenger leaves at the end of the season.

Henry has already coached youngsters at Arsenal during his studies for the A-license, and was offered the role as Under-18s manager - but rejected due to his television commitments.

Wenger's deal expires at the end of the campaign and with the Gunners likely to exit the Champions League at the round of 16 stage, the Frenchman could be forced to leave.

Arsenal lie in fifth place in the Premier League table and are 13 points off leaders Chelsea following their 3 - 1 defeat to Liverpool last weekend.
