Valencia team bus with players involved in a road accident after Copa del Rey triumph
A Valencia team bus carrying the Copa del Rey trophy, staff members and some squad players, was on Sunday morning, May 26, involved in a collision with a lorry to briefly halt the club's title celebrations.
According to a Marca report citing police sources, a vehicle collided with a lorry before the bus was involved in the traffic accident.
The report further confirmed only one person was injured in the unfortunate incident, with those boarding the Valencia team bus escaping unhurt.
The bus was reportedly making its way back to the team hotel in Jerez following Valencia's triumph over Barcelona.
The Los Ches Els Taronges stunned the newly-crowned La Liga champions 2-1 on Saturday, May 25, to claim the Copa del Rey title.
Kevin Gameiro and Rodrigo were both on target, with Lionel Messi's second-half goal failing to rescue Barca from an embarrassing defeat.
Valencia finished the season fourth in La Liga, a staggering 26 points behind the Catalan giants who wrapped up the league title in April.
