Lampard speaks on joining Chelsea after Derby loses to Aston Villa in the play-off final
Derby County manager, Frank Lampard, has insisted that their defeat to Aston Villa in the Championship play-off final, does not make a move to Chelsea more likely.
Lampard continues to be linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge, with Maurizio Sarri's future far from certain in West London.
The Italian has come in for constant criticism throughout the campaign, despite leading the Blues to a third-placed finish and to the Europa League final against Arsenal.
But even victory in Baku might not be enough to save Sarri's job, with Chelsea legend and record goal scorer Lampard the favourite to take over should he get the axe.
"I'm not interested in the speculation. It's not more likely.
"What is likely is that I will sit down with Mel Morris the owner in the next few days when the dust settles because he has been brilliant and the fans have been brilliant.
"We'll see how it goes. I have a two-year contract and I love working here. We'll see," Lampard told Sky Sports after the Wembley defeat.
