Dismissed soldier arrested for armed robbery in Kaduna
- A dismissed soldier identified as Lance Corporal Khalid Mohammed has been arrested for armed robbery

- Mohammed, however, expressed remorse and said that he would turn a new leaf from crime
Lance Corporal Khalid Mohammed, a dismissed soldier, has been apprehended by men of the Kaduna state police command for armed robbery.
Mohammed during the parade reportedly said that he was dismissed from the army because he shot his guard commander. He said he was arrested by the force after he robbed an apartment on Upper Volta road, Malali, in Kaduna.
The suspect also revealed that he has been in the crime since 2006 before he was caught by the police. Mohammed, however, added that he regretted his actions and made a promise to change his ways, saying that he would accept whatsoever punishment he is given. Meanwhile, earlier reported that an old generation bank in Iju-Itaogbolu in Akure North local government area of Ondo state was attacked by gunmen suspected to be armed robbers.
The robbers numbering about six, stormed the bank on Tuesday afternoon, August 6, and started shooting sporadically. It was gathered that several staff of the bank and customers who came for transactions were attacked and injured by the suspected armed robbers. A source reportedly said that the robbers forced their way into the bank and made away with huge amount of money.
